Effective August 1, 2026, routine visa services will no longer be offered at U.S. Consulate Durban. Nationals and residents of South Africa can apply for a visa at U.S. Consulates Cape Town and Johannesburg.
If you have an upcoming visa appointment scheduled at U.S. Consulate Durban, please attend your appointment on the scheduled date and time. Appointments occurring after August 1 will still be honored.

However, after July 31, 2026, you will not be able to reschedule your appointment to a later date.
If you have paid the MRV fee but have not yet scheduled an appointment, you must log on to our website and select an appointment date by July 31, 2026. After July 31, you will not be able to schedule a visa appointment at U.S Consulate Durban.

If you wish to apply for a visa after August 1, please visit our website and follow the instructions to pay the application fee and schedule an appointment at U.S. Consulate Cape Town or Johannesburg.
